Day 1: St. Moritz Arrive in Zurich and enjoy a rail transfer to St. Moritz. Day 2: St. Moritz The Upper Engadine is yours to explore today. Take advantage of your Swiss Card which offers a 50% discount on local rail transport and some mountain excursions. The Swiss National Park is a particularly impressive piece of Alpine landscape. Alternatively, take one of the many cable cars from St. Moritz to the mountain stations. Day 3: St. Moritz to Zermatt Today board the world famous Glacier Express for a thrilling ride in the panorama carriage to Zermatt. Enjoy some of the most dramatic scenery along the way. A freshly cooked three course lunch is served at your seat so you won't miss anything. Arrive late afternoon in Zermatt located at the foot of the Matterhorn. Day 4: Zermatt Ride the Gornergrat railway from Zermatt to the top. At 3,089 metres enjoy stunning views of the Matterhorn and a vista of 29 four thousand metre high peaks. Discover the natural paradise on the Gornergrat mountain. Day 5: Zermatt After breakfast, take a rail transfer to Zurich.
Day 1: Lucerne Arrive in Zurich and take a rail transfer to Lucerne. Day 2: Lucerne - Stanserhorn Enjoy an excursion to the Stanserhorn. Ride the vintage railway and an open top cable car to the top, taking in the views along the way. Up on the summit you can do the circular hiking trail. Day 3: Lucerne to Interlaken Depart Lucerne and hop on the Golden Pass railway to Interlaken. En route travel over the Brunig Pass past blue lakes, green meadows and age-old chalets. Green pastures, flowering meadows and traditional villages change to alpine forests and mountain towns before emerging in the vineyards of the Lake Geneva region. Day 7: Lausanne Travel to Lausanne today by a historic paddle steamer or a motor vessel. Explore the Old Town of Lausanne and visit The Olympic Museum. Take the train back to Montreux. Day 8: Montreux After breakfast, take a rail transfer to Zurich.
Day 1: Zurich to Interlaken Arrive in Zurich and take a quick train journey to Lucerne. Board the Luzern Interlaken Express for a journey along the shores of crystal clear lakes, past romantic waterfalls and over the breathtaking Brunig Pass to Interlaken. Day 2: Interlaken - Jungfraujoch A trip to world famous Jungfraujoch, known as the Top of Europe, awaits this morning. Experience the views from Europe's highest railway station and gaze over the Aletsch Glacier at 3,454 metres above sea level. Day 3: Interlaken to Montreux Ride the Golden Pass Line from Interlaken to Montreux and enjoy one of the most picturesque routes across the Alps. From the comfort of your seat see little stations along the line, magnificent views over meadows and the vineyards above Lake Geneva. Day 4: Montreux to Zermatt Enjoy a morning at leisure, stroll along Montreux's lakeside and see the town. Board the train to Zermatt. Day 5: Zermatt - Gornergrat Take the Gornergrat railway from Zermatt to the top of Gornergrat today. At 3,089 metres high enjoy stunning views of the Matterhorn and breathtaking panoramas of the 29 different peaks, all of which are up to 4,000 metres high. Day 6: Zermatt to St Moritz Enjoy the legendary Glacier Express experience from Zermatt to St. Moritz, a thrilling journey in a panoramic carriage. The exhilarating journey takes you along the deep Rhone Valley, over the dramatic Oberalp Pass and through Rhine Gorge to glamorous St. Moritz. Day 7: St Moritz Take the day at leisure to explore chic St. Moritz. The town is located at an altitude of 1,856 metres above sea level and is surrounded by the beautiful lake landscape of the Upper Engadine. Day 8: St Moritz to Lugano Today travel along the Bernina Express to Lugano. Enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. Travel along circular viaducts and over remote glaciers before heading down to the border of Italy. Change to the Bernina Express bus and travel through Italy along the lakes back to Switzerland. Day 9: Lugano to Lucerne Travel on the Gotthard Panorama Express into the traditional heart of Switzerland. The Gotthard route is truly mesmerising, and the lake cruise from Fluelen to Lucerne tops off your rail adventure. Day 10: Lucerne to Zurich After breakfast, check-out of your hotel. Depart Lucerne back to Zurich Airport.
